Index of Eight Core Industries (Base: 2011-12=100)October, 2019
The summary of the Index of Eight Core Industries (base: 2011-12) is given at the Annexure.
The Eight Core Industries comprise 40.27 per cent of the weight of items included in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The combined Index of Eight Core Industries stood at 127.0 in October, 2019, which declinedby 5.8per centas compared to the index of October,2018. Its cumulative growth during April to October,2019-20was 0.2per cent.
Coal
Coal production (weight: 10.33per cent)declinedby 17.6 per cent in October,2019 over October,2018. Its cumulative index declinedby 5.8 per centduring April to October,2019-20over corresponding period of the previous year.
Crude Oil
Crude Oil production (weight: 8.98per cent) declinedby 5.1 per cent in October,2019 over October,2018. Its cumulative index declined by 5.8 per centduring April toOctober,2019-20over the corresponding period of previous year.
Natural Gas
The Natural Gas production (weight: 6.88per cent) declinedby5.7 per cent in October,2019 over October,2018. Its cumulative index declined by 2.6 per centduring April toOctober,2019-20 over the corresponding period of previous year.
Refinery Products
Petroleum Refinery production (weight: 28.04per cent)increasedby0.4 per cent inOctober,2019 overOctober,2018. Its cumulative index declined by 1.7 per centduring April to October,2019-20over the corresponding period of previous year.
Fertilizers
Fertilizers production (weight: 2.63 per cent) increased by 11.8 per cent in October,2019 overOctober,2018. Its cumulative index increasedby 2.6 per cent during April toOctober,2019-20 over the corresponding period of previous year.
Steel
Steel production (weight: 17.92per cent)declinedby 1.6 per cent inOctober,2019 over October,2018. Its cumulative index increased by 6.7per centduring April to October,2019-20 over the corresponding period of previous year.
Cement
Cement production (weight: 5.37per cent) declinedby7.7per cent inOctober,2019overOctober,2018. Its cumulative index declinedby 0.6per centduring April to October,2019-20over the corresponding period of previous year.
Electricity
Electricity generation (weight: 19.85per cent) declinedby12.4per centin October,2019over October,2018. Its cumulative indexincreased by1.5per cent duringApril to October,2019-20over the corresponding period of previous year.
Note 1: Data for August, 2019, September, 2019 and October, 2019 are provisional.
Note 2: Since April, 2014, Electricity generation data from Renewable sources are also included.
Note 3: The industry-wise weights indicated above are individual industry weight derived from IIP and blown up on pro rata basis to a combined weight of ICI equal to 100.
Note 4: Since March 2019, a new steel product called Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled (HRPO) under the item ‘Cold Rolled (CR) coils’ within the production of finished steel has also been included.
Note5: Release of the index for November, 2019 will be on Tuesday, 31stDecember, 2019.

अप्रैल-सितंबर, 2019-20 में आठ कोर उद्योगों की वृद्धि दर 1.3 प्रतिशत रही
     आठ कोर उद्योगों का संयुक्‍त सूचकांक सितंबर, 2019 में 120.6 अंक रहा, जो सितम्‍बर 2018 में दर्ज किए गए सूचकांक के मुकाबले 5.2 प्रतिशत कम है। दूसरे शब्‍दों में, सितम्‍बर 2019 में आठ कोर उद्योगों की वृद्धि दर 5.2 प्रतिशत ऋणात्‍मक आंकी गई है। वहीं, वर्ष 2019-20 की अप्रैल-सितम्‍बर अवधि के दौरान आठ कोर उद्योगों की संचयी उत्‍पादन वृद्धि दर 1.3 प्रतिशत रही।
औद्योगिक उत्‍पादन सूचकांक (आईआईपी) में शामिल वस्तुओं के भारांक (वेटेज) का 40.27 प्रतिशत हिस्सा आठ कोर उद्योगों में शामिल होता है। आठ कोर उद्योगों के सूचकांक (आधार वर्ष: 2011-12) का सार अनुलग्‍नक में दिया गया है।
कोयला
सितम्‍बर, 2019 में कोयला उत्‍पादन (भारांक: 10.33%) सितम्‍बर, 2018 के मुकाबले 20.5 प्रतिशत घट गया। वर्ष 2019-20 की अप्रैल-सितम्‍बर अवधि के दौरान कोयला उत्‍पादन की वृद्धि दर पिछले वर्ष की समान अवधि की तुलना में 3.5 प्रतिशत कम रही।
कच्‍चा तेल
सितम्‍बर, 2019 के दौरान कच्‍चे तेल का उत्‍पादन (भारांक: 8.98%) सितम्‍बर, 2018 की तुलना में 5.4 प्रतिशत गिर गया। वर्ष 2019-20 की अप्रैल-सितम्‍बर अवधि के दौरान कच्‍चे तेल का उत्‍पादन बीते वित्‍त वर्ष की समान अवधि की तुलना में 6.0 प्रतिशत कम रहा।
प्राकृतिक गैस
सितम्‍बर, 2019 में प्राकृतिक गैस का उत्‍पादन (भारांक: 6.88%) सितम्‍बर, 2018 के मुकाबले 4.9 प्रतिशत गिर गया। वर्ष 2019-20 की अप्रैल-सितम्‍बर अवधि के दौरान प्राकृतिक गैस का उत्‍पादन पिछले वित्‍त वर्ष की समान अवधि की तुलना में 2.0 प्रतिशत घट गया।
रिफाइनरी उत्‍पाद
पेट्रोलियम रिफाइनरी उत्‍पादों का उत्‍पादन (भारांक: 28.04%) सितम्‍बर, 2019 में 6.7 प्रतिशत गिर गया। वर्ष 2019-20 की अप्रैल-सितम्‍बर अवधि के दौरान पेट्रोलियम रिफाइनरी उत्‍पादों का उत्‍पादन पिछले वित्‍त वर्ष की समान अवधि की तुलना में 2.0 प्रतिशत कम रहा।
उर्वरक
सितम्‍बर, 2019 के दौरान उर्वरक उत्‍पादन (भारांक: 2.63%) 5.4 प्रतिशत बढ़ गया। वर्ष 2019-20 की अप्रैल-सितम्‍बर अवधि के दौरान उर्वरक उत्‍पादन बीते वित्‍त वर्ष की इसी अवधि की तुलना में 1.1 प्रतिशत अधिक रहा।
इस्‍पात
सितम्‍बर, 2019 में इस्‍पात उत्‍पादन (भारांक: 17.92%) 0.3 प्रतिशत घट गया। वर्ष 2019-20 की अप्रैल-सितम्‍बर अवधि के दौरान इस्‍पात उत्‍पादन पिछले वित्‍त वर्ष की समान अवधि के मुकाबले 8.5 प्रतिशत ज्‍यादा रहा।
सीमेंट
सितम्‍बर, 2019 के दौरान सीमेंट उत्‍पादन (भारांक: 5.37%) सितम्‍बर, 2018 के मुकाबले 2.1 प्रतिशत कम रहा। वर्ष 2019-20 की अप्रैल-सितम्‍बर अवधि के दौरान सीमेंट उत्‍पादन बीते वित्‍त वर्ष की इसी अवधि की तुलना में 0.7 प्रतिशत अधिक रहा।
बिजली
सितम्‍बर, 2019 के दौरान बिजली उत्‍पादन (भारांक: 19.85%) सितम्‍बर, 2018 के मुकाबले 3.7 प्रतिशत गिर गया। वर्ष 2019-20 की अप्रैल-सितम्‍बर अवधि के दौरान बिजली उत्‍पादन पिछले वित्‍त वर्ष की समान अवधि के मुकाबले 3.6 प्रतिशत अधिक रहा।

नोट 1: जुलाई, 2019, अगस्‍त 2019 और सितम्‍बर, 2019 के आंकड़े अनंतिम हैं।
नोट 2: अप्रैल, 2014 से ही बिजली उत्पादन के आंकड़ों में नवीकरणीय अथवा अक्षय स्रोतों से प्राप्त बिजली को भी शामिल किया जा रहा है।
नोट 3: अक्‍टूबर 2019 के लिए सूचकांक शुक्रवार, 29 नवम्‍बर, 2019 को जारी किया जाएगा।

1.       The summary of the Index of Eight Core Industries (base: 2011-12) is given at the Annexure.
2.       The Eight Core Industries comprise 40.27 per cent of the weight of items included in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The combined Index of Eight Core Industries stood at 127.5 in April, 2019, which was 2.6 per cent higher as compared to the index of April, 2018. Its cumulative growth during April to March, 2018-19 was 4.3 per cent.
Coal
3.       Coal production (weight: 10.33 per cent) increased by 2.8 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 7.4 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over corresponding period of the previous year.
Crude Oil
4.       Crude Oil production (weight: 8.98 per cent) declined by 6.9 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index declined by 4.1 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
Natural Gas
5.       The Natural Gas production (weight: 6.88 per cent) declined by 0.8 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 0.8 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.

Refinery Products

Steel
8.       Steel production (weight: 17.92 per cent) increased by 1.5 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 4.7 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
Cement
9.       Cement production (weight: 5.37 per cent) increased by 0.8 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 13.3 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
Electricity
10.     Electricity generation (weight: 19.85 per cent) increased by 5.8 per cent in April, 2019 over April, 2018. Its cumulative index increased by 5.2 per cent during April to March, 2018-19 over the corresponding period of previous year.
Note 1: Data for February, 2019, March, 2019 and April, 2019 are provisional.
